Particularly, the FaithCenter created last year
Healthy Heartbeats, a self-empowerment based hypertension prevention program. This year, the FaithCenter has chosen the American Diabetes Association’s national preventive initiative, CheckUp America™, as the model for the Sugar Smart program, which is aimed at helping people learn how to lower their risk for type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Finally, the Baltimore City Health Department has teamed up with the FaithCenter to offer online grocery delivery service, a Virtual Supermarket, to the neighborhood.
